They have not and have never been abandoned by the democratic party. They simply mistake not getting exactly what they want as being abandoned, because they live in a perpetual victim complex-so much so that they accuse anyone else of exploiting victimhood. How many right wingers respond to BLM protests *of any sort* by dismissing any and all grievances?

If you think an athlete kneeling at the national anthem should shut up and just be quiet, instead of quietly and peacefully drawing attention to the very real lack of accountability for police misconduct you shouldn't expect people to listen to your grievances. When you can't get a job that pays your rent because a failed industry shut down or moves out of country, you shouldn't be mocking people who say that a company should pay living wages.

When Trumpists hear the green new deal, they immediately block their ears, even tho it involves infrastructure projects that will employ them and create opportunities for their communities. When they hear obamacare, they refuse to consider it because they'll have to pay a higher tax, and reap a much better reward than they got by paying a private company much more money for substandard insurance.

Democrats constantly offer solutions that benefit all people across the country, in all districts. The tragedy is that the people who need to hear it most are so closed minded that they never consider any idea if it benefits everyone-not just themselves.
